Kristina was born and raised in New York State. She graduated with a degree in History from Wells College in 1999 and moved to South Carolina not long after graduation. She worked with teenage adjudicated females at a wilderness camp, counseling and guiding them to change their behavior in a positive manner. She has worked in group homes and daycare centers helping care for children and adolescents and encouraging children and teenagers to make positive changes in their lives.
To further her education, she attended Clemson University, the University of Tampa, and Walden University taking classes in psychology and counseling. She worked in the Hillsborough County School System in Charter Schools and is familiar with Hillsborough County Schools policies for 504, IEP, and giftedness. On top of her experience, she has concentrations in both Crisis and Trauma and Addiction Counseling and is a member of Chi Sigma Iota, the Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International.
Kristina’s theoretical orientation is narrative therapy. She believes everyone has a story and they are the author of their story. Change is possible as anyone can rewrite their narrative to assign the meaning they want to events which have happened. Identifying the meanings people assign to their stories and helping them change these meanings is at the heart of her approach. This approach empowers individuals to investigate the narratives they tell themselves and explore the possibility of telling new stories about their lives. It also allows for the integration of other theories, such as cognitive behavioral and solution focused therapies, to individualize treatment.

With a strong educational background and extensive experience in counseling, I believe I am an ideal candidate to assist those seeking help from their daily struggles, Mental Health, distress, trauma, complex situations, and other arising complications. Educational support is always necessary and I am the right candidate to ensure those educational needs in Mental Health are provided.
I am able to assist in providing a non-judgmental environment for those that are looking to talk about different stages of their lives. This can range from Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Autism, Marriage and Family Counseling, and other Mental Health Disorders. While providing a safe space, there will be assistance with resources and support.
When do you know when you are overwhelmed? What are the warning signs? How did you get to where you are now? What are your feelings? How do you cope with a loss? What are some of the support groups you attend? Who are your supporters? Do you have a trusted person to speak to when you need to vent?
